In recent decades the MassJCL has helped to cultivate excellent certamen players, among whose ranks lie Dante Minutillo, Amol & Rahi Punjabi, and even Elizabeth Banks (who played Effie Trinket in the Hunger Games), as well as many, many other great students.
Every year since 2011, at least one of our teams has buzzed their way to the national finals, and in four of those years, we’ve had finalists in all three divisions! Since 2005, our teams have secured a total of 14 trophies across conventions (7 novice/JV2, 3 intermediate/JV1, and 4 advanced/varsity victories).
Our certamen coaches are seasoned educators with years of experience in teaching the Classics down their belt, and all of them are familiar with the NJCL certamen experience.
